Georg Fischer cast bike frame parts

Fischer of Switzerland made sand-cast bike frame parts from the 1950s through the 1970s.
They were widely accepted as the best available at the time. They are probably most famous
as the parts favored by Faliero Masi, used on Italian and USA-made Masi frames.

The rough sand-cast surface meant hours of filing to make the parts look good enough.

Once smooth investment-cast parts arrived on the scene, the Fischer parts were obsolete.

Georg Fischer is still in business today, making plumbing fixtures, among other things.
